Explain heel decrease please as asked previously thank you

Dear Fiona, on the first row on heel decrease, knit 17 (first size) -19 (2nd size), then slip 1, K1,psso and turn (5 sts remain), purl 11-13, slip 1, P1, psso (12-13 sts on needle), (5 sts remain), turn, continue like this working until 1 stitch less remain, you should always knit 11-13 from RS before decrease (slip 1, K1, psso) and purl 11-13 from WS before decrease (slip 1, P1, psso) - until 12-14 sts remain on needle. See also video linked below and under video tab. Happy knitting!

Dear Fiona, in this video, we show how to work such heel decreases, this means you will work the middle 12-14-14-14 stitches, decreasing 1 stitch on each side at the end of each row until all stitches have been worked (note that the heel in the video is worked over a different number of stitches but technique remains the same). Happy knitting!

Hej! Det stämmer inte i mönstret. När jag ska stickat A2A (58 maskor). Andra varvet blir fel. 1 maska färg 1, 4 maskor färg 2. Det går ju inte jämt upp?

Hej Mona. Om du stickar den minsta storleken så stickar du 5 maskor av A.2A, 48 maskor av A.2B och 5 maskor av A.2C. 5+48+5=58 m. Mvh DROPS Design

Deretter skal A.2A strikkes over 5 masker, A.2B strikkes over de neste 48 maskene, og omgangen avsluttes med at A.2C over 5 masker.

INFORMATION FOR THE PATTERN: PATTERN: See diagrams A.1 to A.3. Choose diagram for your size. The whole pattern is worked in stocking stitch. DECREASE TIP-1: To work out how to decrease evenly, count the total number of stitches on the needles (e.g. 63 stitches) and divide by the number of decreases to be made (e.g. 3) = 21. In this example, knit every 20th and 21st stitch together. KNITTING TIP (for heel): To strengthen the heel, you can work the heel and heel decrease with 2 strands as follows: Use the strand from both the inside and outside of the ball and work stitches alternately with the one and then the other strand. In this way you get a thicker heel without using a double strand. HEEL DECREASE: ROW 1 (= right side): Knit until there are 7-7-8-8 stitches left, slip the next stitch as if to knit, knit 1, pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch, turn the piece. ROW 2 (= wrong side): Purl until there are 7-7-8-8 stitches left, slip the next stitch as if to purl, purl 1, pass the slipped stitch over the purled stitch, turn the piece. ROW 3 (= right side): Knit until there are 6-6-7-7 stitches left, slip the next stitch as if to knit, knit 1, pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch, turn the piece. ROW 4 (= wrong side): Purl until there are 6-6-7-7 stitches left, slip the next stitch as if to purl, purl 1, pass the slipped stitch over the purled stitch, turn the piece. Continue to decrease in the same way, with 1 stitch less before slipping the stitch, until there are 12-14-14-14 stitches left on the row. DECREASE TIP-2: Work until there are 2 stitches left before the marker, knit 2 together, marker, slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 1, pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch (= 2 stitches decreased). ---------------------------------------------------------- SOCK: The piece is worked in the round with double pointed needles. Cast on 63-63-69-69 stitches with double pointed needles size 2.5 mm and wine red. Knit 1 round. Then work rib in the round (= knit 1 / purl 2) for 4 cm. Change to double pointed needles size 3.5 mm and knit 1 round where you decrease 3-3-5-5 stitches evenly on round – read DECREASE TIP-1 = 60-60-64-64 stitches. Work A.1 (= 15-15-16-16 repeats of 4 stitches). REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! When A.1 has been completed, knit 1 round with off white where you decrease 2 stitches in all sizes evenly on round = 58-58-62-62 stitches. The next round is worked as follows: Work A.2A (= 5-5-7-7 stitches), work A.2B over the next 48 stitches (= 3 repeats of 16 stitches in all sizes) and finish with A.2C (= 5-5-7-7 stitches). Continue the pattern in this way. AT THE SAME TIME on the last round in A.2 decrease 4-4-2-2 stitches evenly on round = 54-54-60-60 stitches. Continue working A.3 (= 9-9-10-10 repeats of 6 stitches). On the last round in A.3 decrease 6-2-6-4 stitches evenly on round = 48-52-54-56 stitches. When A.3 has been completed, the piece measures approx. 20 cm. The sock is continued in stocking stitch and light grey. When the piece measures 21-22-23-24 cm keep the first 12-13-14-14 stitches on the needle for the heel, place the next 24-26-26-28 stitches on 1 thread (= top of foot) and keep the last 12-13-14-14 stitches on the needle for heel. Read KNITTING TIP and work stocking stitch back and forth over the 24-26-28-28 heel stitches for 5-5½-6-6½ cm. Insert 1 marker in the middle of the row - THE PIECE IS NOW MEASURED FROM HERE! Now work HEEL DECREASE – see description above. When heel decrease has been comleted, knit up 11-12-13-14 stitches on each side of the heel and the 24-26-26-28 stitches from the thread are placed back on the needle = 58-64-66-70 stitches. Insert 1 marker on each side of the 24-26-26-28 stitches on top of foot. Work stocking stitch in the round with light grey and decrease on each side of the 24-26-26-28 stitches on top of foot as follows: Knit together the last 2 stitches BEFORE the first marker and knit twisted together the first 2 stitches AFTER the last marker on top of foot. Decrease in this way every 2nd round a total of 7-8-7-7 times = 44-48-52-56 stitches. Continue working until the piece measures 18-20-22-25 cm from the marker on the heel (there are approx. 4-4-5-5 cm left to finished length, you can try the sock on and work to desired length). Insert 1 marker in each side of the sock so that there are 22-24-26-28 stitches both on top and underneath the foot. Continue with stocking stitch and decrease to toe on each side of these two markers - read DECREASE TIP-2. Decrease in this way every 2nd round a total of 4-4-5-5 times and then every round a total of 5-6-6-7 times = 8 stitches left on needle in all sizes. Cut the strand, pull it through the remaining stitches, tighten and fasten well. Work another sock in the same way. |
