Piece measures approx. 27 cm from centre and outwards, fasten off. Continue working only over 22 ch-spaces in each side – i.e. do not work over 15 ch-spaces at top by neck or 15 ch-spaces at bottom of back. Continue with explanation below front piece further down in pattern. LEFT FRONT PIECE: = 17-19-22 ch-spaces. Continue as follows: ROW 1: Work 1 tr in every dc (first tr is replaced by 3 ch) and 3 tr in every ch-space – AT THE SAME TIME work the first 5 and last 5 tr on row tog - SEE DECREASE TIP 1 – (i.e. there are 8 tr less on row every time 1st row is worked) = 61-69-81 tr on row. ROW 2: 5 ch (= 1 dc + 4 ch) up from first tr (i.e. the 5 tr worked tog), * skip 3 tr, 1 dc in next tr, 4 ch *, repeat from *-*, finish with 1 dc in last tr (i.e. in the 5 tr worked tog) = 15-17-20 ch-spaces on row. Repeat rows 1 and 2 a total of 4-4-5 times, (= approx. 8-8-10 cm). 9-11-12 ch-spaces remain at the edge of front piece. Fasten off. RIGHT FRONT PIECE: Work same way as on left front piece over 17-19-22 ch-spaces in the right side. SLEEVE: Worked back and forth and sewn tog afterwards. Work 30-34-37 loose ch (incl 3 ch to turn with) on hook size 5 mm with Paris. ROW 1: 1 tr in 4th ch from hook, 1 tr in each of the next 5-2-5 ch, * skip 1 ch, 1 tr in each of the next 6 ch *, repeat from *-* the rest of the row = 25-28-31 tr. Turn piece. Work 1 row with 1 tr in every tr - first tr is replaced by 3 ch. Then work PATTERN for sleeve - see explanation above. AT THE SAME TIME when piece measures approx. 10 cm (adjust so that next row is 2nd row in pattern), inc 3 tr evenly. Repeat inc approx. every 8-10-12 cm 2 more times = 34-37-40 tr in total on row. NOTE: Hold the piece up when measuring the sleeve length otherwise the sleeve will be too long when worn. When piece measures approx. 29-35-40 cm (adjust so that next row is 1st row in pattern), dec in each side for sleeve cap as follows: Work sl sts over the first 4 tr, then work ch-spaces as before (work first ch-space up from 4th sl st made) until 3 tr remain, turn piece. On next row, work the first 4 and last 4 tr tog – SEE DECREASE TIP 2. Repeat dec every other row 3 more times. Fasten off, piece measures approx. 37-43-48 cm. Sew sleeve seams edge to edge to avoid a chunky seam. ASSEMBLY: Work 1 round around the entire body as follows - beg mid back of neck with 1 dc in first ch-space: * 1 picot (= 4 ch, 1 tr in first ch), skip approx. 1½ cm, 1 dc *, repeat from *-* around the entire piece, finish with 1 sl st in first dc. Work the same way around the bottom opening of the sleeves. Sew sleeves in body - make sure that sleeve cap is sewn in at the top of armholes, i.e. where the distance is shortest. Work a ch-row with approx. 50 ch on hook size 5 mm with Paris. Fasten off, this is used to close the jacket mid front. |

I am trying to work Round 14 of 6/9 years old Lovely Lily jacket and am completely confused when it comes to ch-space fored for armhole.....Is there a video that would show me what to do. Any type of diagram or instruction would be most appreciated. Thank you.

Dear Mrs White, on this round you will now work in pattern as before to the end of the round, ie between the ch-spaces for armholes and in the both chain-spaces for each armhole = * ch 1, 5 dc in ch-space *, repeat from *-* 5 times in total in each ch-space, and work 1 ch, 5 dc over the ch-spaces before/between/after the chain-spaces for the armholes = at the end of this round there are 24 groups of 5 dc with 1 ch between each dc-group. Happy crocheting!

Hello, I have yet another question, I’m so confused, The section for finishing the sleeves, pattern states to dec in each side for sleeve cap as follows: Work sl sts over the first 4 tr, then work ch-spaces as before (work first 4 work first ch-space up from 4th sl st made) until 3 tr remain, turn piece Please help me Does that mean sl st 4 then ch 3 repeat until I reach the last 3 tr?
30.03.2019 - 03:13DROPS Design answered:
Dear Nancy, on this row, decrease as shown in this video (crochet only 1 sl st in each of the first tr at the beg of the row and stop when 3 treble remains at the end of the row before turning, then decrease as explained under DECREASE TIP-2. Happy crocheting!

Hello, I’m a novice, self taught, your patterns and yarn are beautiful, I can’t gigure out body 3/5 yr old round 11, it instructs is to chain 5 then sc in next, repeat 6 times, so does that mean to chain 5 then sc in 4th chain (chain right under 5th) then it says there should be 23 chains, then it says to skip 4 dc groups, 10 times, i only count 6 times...are there any pictures that may help me...if not will you please help me

Dear Nancy, you now crochet same pattern as round 9 but you will now crochet 5 chains instead of 4 chains and at the same time, you will create armholes by skipping 4 tr-groups replaced by 23 chains a total of 2 times (as explained for this round). On next round, you will continue in pattern working in the 5-ch-spaces and in the 23 chains for armholes. Happy crocheting!

Dear Caroline, on round 11 you skipped 4 tr-groups replaced by 23 chains for the armholes, ie a total of 2 times. On round 12, continue with same pattern as before, working in the chains for armhole as before (= 5 tr, skip 1 ch) a total of 4 times. Happy crocheting!

Dear Mrs Matthews, make sure you have 162 sts at the end of round 18, then repeat (4 ch, skip 2 dc, 1 sc in next dc) a total of 54 times all the round = 54 ch-spaces over the 162 dc. Happy crocheting!

Bjr. J’aimErai avoir plus de renseignements sur le rangs de diminution des manches. 1 er rang: il y a les mc pour l’arrondi. Rang 2: écouler les brides Rang 3? Doit on refaire les mailles coulées? Ou juste écouler les brides.
29.12.2017 - 23:19DROPS Design answered:
Bon crochet!
