Gauge: 14 sts x 19 rows = 10 x 10 cm [4" x 4"] on larger needles with Passion in stockinette st.
Note: Passion has a tendency to twist when knit. For best results, untwist the yarn as you go along.
Loop fringe: The loop fringe must be knit from the wrong side in order to come out on the right side.
Knit loop fringe as follows: K 1, * Make a double loop as follows: wrap yarn loosely 3 times around left index finger. Pull all 3 strands on left index finger through st, leaving the st on left needle. Then K into the back of the same st, holding the 2 long loops against the piece. There are now 3 loops + 1 twisted st on right needle. Pass the 3 loops over the twisted st = 1 loop *, repeat from * - *. End row with K 1.
Garter st, when knitting flat: Knit all sts, all rows.
Front: Cast on 54-60-66 sts on smaller needles with Passion and knit 4 rows garter st. Change to larger needles and stockinette st. When the piece measures 6-6-6 cm [2 3/8"] inc 1 st at each side every 4-4-4 cm [1.5"] 6-6-6 times = 66-72-78 sts. When the piece measures 29-32-35 cm [11 3/8" - 12 5/8" - 13.75"] bind off for armhole at each side every other row: 3 sts 1-1-1 time, 2 sts 0-1-2 times, 1 st 4-4-5 times = 52-54-54 sts. When the piece measures 37-41-45 cm [14.5" - 16 1/8" - 17.75"] bind off the center 14-14-16 sts for the neck. Bind off at each neck edge every other row: 2 sts 1-1-1 time, 1 st 5-5-5 times. Bind off the remaining 12-13-12 sts on each shoulder when the piece measures 46-50-54 cm [18 1/8" - 18-7/8" - 20.5" - 21.25"].
Back: Cast on and knit the same as the front. Bind off for armhole as on front and knit until the piece measures 44-48-52 cm [17.25" - 18 7/8" - 20.5"], bind off the center 26-26-28 sts for the neck. On the next row dec 1 st at each neck edge. Bind off the remaining 12-13-12 sts when the piece measures 46-50-54 cm [18 1/8" - 18-7/8" - 20.5" - 21.25"].
Sleeve: Cast on 43-46-50 sts on smaller needles with Passion and K 1 row (right side). Change to double strands of Silke-Tweed and knit loop fringe - see instructions above. Change to Passion and larger needles and knit stockinette st to finished dimensions. At the same time when the piece measures 5 cm [2"] inc 1 st at each side = 45-48-52 sts. When sleeve measures 11-9-9 cm [4.25" - 3.5" - 3.5"] bind off for sleeve cap at each side every other row: 3 sts 1-1-1 time, 2 sts 2-2-2 times, 1 st 3-4-5 times, then bind off 2 sts at each side until the piece measures 19-19-20 cm [7.5" - 7.5" - 7 7/8"], bind off all sts.
Assembly: Sew right shoulder. Pick up approx. 68 to 78 sts around the neck on smaller needles with Passion. Change to double strands of Silke-Tweed and knit loop fringe. Change to Passion, knit 2 rows garter st - bind off on last row. Sew left shoulder and up along neckband. Sew in sleeves. Sew sleeve and side seams using edge sts as a seam allowance - sew with sewing thread.
