NOTE: This pattern is written in American English. All measurements in charts are in cm. For conversion from cm to inch - click here. GARTER ST (in the round on circular needle):
* K 1 round and P 1 round *, repeat from *-*. 1 ridge = 2 rounds.

PATTERN:
See diagrams A.1 and A.2.

NECK WARMER:
Worked in the round on circular needle from bottom up.
Cast on 196 sts on circular needle size 4 mm / US 6 with Lima. Work 3 ridges in garter st - see explanation above.
Then work according to diagram A.1 (= 14 repetitions in width).
Continue this pattern upwards, when A.1 has been worked, there are 84 sts on needle.
Switch to a shorter circular needle when needed.
Continue in garter st for 13 cm / 5’’.
Bind off.

CROCHET EDGE:
Work an edge around the entire neck warmer on hook size 4 mm / G/6 with Lima as follows: * 1 sc, ch 3, 1 dc in first ch, skip approx. 1½ cm / ½’’ *, repeat from *-*, finish with 1 sl st in first sc.


HAT:
Worked in the round on circular needle, top down.
Cast on 18 sts on double pointed needles size 4 mm / US 6 with Lima.
Work according to diagram A.2 (= 6 repetitions in width).
Switch to circular needle when needed. W
hen A.2 has been worked 1 time vertically, there are 102 sts on needle.
Switch to circular needle size 3.5 mm / US 4, then work in garter st over all sts until piece measures 20 cm / 8’’.
Bind off.
Tighten tog hole at the top of hat.
To shape the hat place it in water when finished and pull it over a plate. Leave to dry on the plate.
Repeat the process each time it has been washed.
