Size: The pattern can be adjusted the measurements of any laptop.

Measurement info: The pattern is estimated so that the flap will overlap with 2/5 of the height of the laptop (not depending on size) before casting/binding off for tip.

Materials: DROPS NEPAL from Garnstudio
Color no 0206m, light beige:
For a bag that fits a laptop with measurements 23 x 30 cm / 9''x11 3/4", 250 g is needed.
For a bag that fits a laptop with measurements 30 x 40 cm / 11 3/4"x15 3/4'', 500 g is needed.
Estimate what you need for your laptop based on this.

DROPS CIRCULAR NEELDE size 5 mm / US 8 (80 cm / 32'') - or size needed to get 17 sts x 22 rows = 10 x 10 cm / 4'' x 4'' before felting. After felting: approx. 24 sts x 38 rows = 10 x 10 cm / 4'' x 4''.

LAPTOP MEASUREMENTS:
You need to insert some numbers yourself in order to make the pattern fit your laptop. Round off all numbers up to nearest whole number.

Measure the laptop's circumference: ___ cm / inch and height: ___ cm / inch and fill in the rest of the numbers.
The pattern requires the following numbers:
A: Multiply the circumference with 2.4 = ______ sts.
B: Multiply the height with 1.7 = ______ cm / inch.
C: Multiply the number from B with 0.4 = _______ cm / inch.

LAPTOP BAG:
Start by measuring the laptop - see explanation above.
Worked in the round on circular needle.
Cast on sts from A: _______ on circular needle size 5 mm / US 8 with Nepal.
Work in stockinette st until piece measures B: ______ cm / inch.
Now bind off half the sts and continue to work a flap back and forth on needle. Continue in stockinette st until flap measures C: ______ cm / inch.
Now bind off for tip on flap starting from RS as follows: * bind off 3 sts at beg of the next 2 rows, bind off 2 sts at beg of the next 2 rows *. Repeat from *-* until 4-8 sts remain on needle.
Bind off. Sew tog edge at the bottom of piece.

CROCHET BORDER:
Crochet a lace edge on hook size 5 mm / H/8 along the flap's bind off edge - beg in the right side of flap.
ROW 1: 1 sc, * ch 9 , skip 2 cm / 3/4'', 1 sc *, repeat from *-* the entire row.
ROW 2: Turn piece and work sl st up to the middle of 1st loop, then 1 sc in loop, * ch9 , 1 sc in next loop *, repeat from *-* until last ch space. Cut and fasten the thread.

FELTING:
Place the bag in the washing machine with a detergent without enzymes and optical bleach. Wash warm at 40C/104F with normal spin but no pre-wash. After wash shape the bag to the right size while still wet and leave to dry flat. At subsequent wash, wash the bag at regular wool program.
