CHRISTMAS RUG (diameter 70 cm [27½’’]):
Crochet 4 ch with crochet hook size 7 mm [K/10½] and Eskimo and form a ring with 1 sl st in first ch.
ROUND 1: 9 sc in ring, finish with 1 sl in first sc.
ROUND 2: SEE CROCHET TIP! 2 dc in each sc = 18 dc.
ROUND 3: * 1 dc in each of the first 3 dc, 2 ch *, repeat from *-* = 6 ch-loops.
ROUND 4: * 2 dc in first dc, 1 dc in next dc, 2 dc in next dc, 2 ch, skip 2 ch *, repeat from *-*.

ROUND 18: 5 ch, 1 sc in first ch-loop from previous round, * 5 ch, 1 sc in next ch-loop from previous round *, repeat from *-*, and finish with 5 ch and 1 sl st in first ch from beg of round = 54 ch-loops.
ROUND 19: 3 ch, 1 sc in first ch-loop, * 6 ch, 1 sc in next ch-loop *, repeat from *-*, and finish with 6 ch and 1 sl st in first sc.
ROUND 20: 3 ch, 1 sc in first ch-loop, * 7 ch, 1 sc in next ch-loop *, repeat from *-*, and finish with 7 ch and 1 sl st in first sc.
ROUND 21: Crochet as follows in each ch-loop: 3 sc, 1 picot (= 3 ch, 1 sc in the first of these ch) and 3 sc.
Cut and fasten thread.
LARGER RUG: Continue inc in the same way after Round 11 until you reach desired size. When working the points of the leaves (from Round 12) crochet dc on the number of dc in each leaf, in addition to the first and last dc on each leaf, where you work 1 sl st. Continue working dc on 2 less dc per round until there are 3 dc left on each leaf, and now continue with Round 18, Round 19 etc.
