Body: Numbers in () = men's sizes. Cast on 160-164-168 (168-172) sts on smaller circular needles; join and place a marker at the join. Knit 2 rows stockinette stitch and then knit rib until the work measures 6 cm [2-3/8"]. Change to larger circular needles, change to stockinette stitch, increasing 32-40-48 (36-44) sts evenly distributed on the 1st row = 192-204-216 (204-216) sts. When the work measures 11-12-12 (13-14) cm [4.25" - 4.75" - 4.75" (5-1/8" - 5.5")], knit Pattern 1 once, then Pattern 2 twice, then Pattern 3 once. At the same time, when the work measures 35-37-38 (40-42) cm [13.75" - 14.5" - 14-7/8" (15.75" - 16.5)], knit the next row as follows: Bind off 2 sts for armhole, 92-98-104 (98-104) front, bind off 4 sts for armhole, 92-98-104 (98-104) back, bind off 2 sts for armhole. Knit the rest of each part separately.
Front: = 92-98-104 (98-104) sts. Then bind off for armholes every other row: 2 sts 1-2-2 (0-1) times, 1 st 1-1-2 (1-1) times = 86-88-92 (96-98) sts. After Pattern 3 repeat Pattern 4. When the work measures 43-45-47 (50-53) cm [16-7/8" - 17.75" - 18.5" (19.75" - 20-7/8")], divide the front at the center for neck split. Knit the rest of the right and left sides of the front, keeping the 2 sts at each split edge in garter stitch. At the same time, when the work measures 54-56-58 (61-64) cm [21.25" - 22" - 22-7/8" (24" - 25.25")], bind off at each neck edge every other row: 10-11-11 (13-13) sts 1 time, 2 sts 2 times, 1 st 2 times. Continue to knit Pattern 4 until the work measures approximately 57-59-61 (64-67) cm [22.5" - 23.25" - 24" (25.25" - 26-3/8")], then knit Pattern 5 once. Bind off after Pattern 5, the work measures approximately 60-62-64 (67-70) cm [23-5/8" - 24-3/8" - 25.25" (26-3/8" - 27-5/8")].
Back: = 92-98-104 (98-104) sts. Bind off for armholes as on the front = 86-88-92 (96-98) sts. After Pattern 3 knit Pattern 4 until the work measures approximately 57-59-61 (64-67) cm [22.5" - 23.25" - 24" (25.25" - 26-3/8")], then knit Pattern 5. At the same time, when the work measures 58-60-62 (65-68) cm [22-7/8" - 23-5/8" - 24-3/8" (25-5/8" - 26.75")], bind off the center 28-30-30 (34-34) sts for the neck. Then bind off 2 sts at each neck edge on the next row. Bind off after Pattern 5, the work measures approximately 60-62-64 (67-70) cm [23-5/8" - 24-3/8" - 25.25" (26-3/8" - 27-5/8")].

Change to larger double pointed needles, knit Pattern 5 once, increasing 4-2-4 (4-4) sts evenly distributed on the 1st row = 40-42-44 (44-44) sts, then repeat Pattern 4 to finished dimensions. At the same time, after the rib inc 1 st each side of marker 23-22-22 (24-26) times alternately every 3rd and 4th row = 86-86-88 (92-96) sts. When the work measures 48-49-49 (52-53) cm [18-7/8" - 19.25" - 19.25" (20.5" - 20-7/8")], bind off 2 sts each side of marker and knit the rest back and forth on the needles. Then bind off for sleeve caps on either side every other row: 6 sts 4 times, bind off. The work measures approximately 53-54-54 (57-58) cm [20-7/8" - 21.25" - 21.25" (22.5" - 22-7/8")].
Assembly: Sew shoulder seams. Pick up approximately 106-114 sts (divisible by 4+2 sts) around the neck on smaller needles and knit the neck back and forth on the needles as follows: knit the 2 outermost sts on either side at the center front in garter stitch, knit the remaining sts in rib for 10 cm [4"], then 2 rows stockinette stitch, bind off.
