PATTERN:
See diagram M.1. Work entire pattern in stocking st.
HEEL DECREASE:
1st row (= RS): Work until 6-7-7 sts remain, slip 1 st as if to K, K 1, psso, turn piece.
2nd row (= WS): Work until 6-7-7 sts remain, slip 1 st as if to P, P 1, psso, turn piece.
3rd row (= RS): Work until 5-6-6 sts remain, slip 1 st as if to K, K 1, psso, turn piece.
4th row (= WS): Work until 5-6-6 sts remain, slip 1 st as if to P, P 1, psso, turn piece.
Continue dec like this with 1 less st before each dec until there are 14-14-16 sts on needle.
--------------------------------------------------------
SOCK:
Worked in the round on double pointed needles. Cast on 72-76-80 sts on double pointed needles size 2.5 mm with grey. K 1 round. Continue to work rib as follows: K 1, * P 2, K 2 *, repeat from *-* and finish with P 2 and K 1. When rib measures 4 cm, K 1 round while AT THE SAME TIME dec 0-4-8 sts evenly = 72-72-72 sts.
Then work pattern and dec as in diagram M.1.
When diagram M.1 has been worked, there are 60 sts on needle and piece measures approx. 20 cm. Continue with grey until finished measurements - while AT THE SAME TIME on 1st round, adjusting no of sts to 54-58-62 sts. Work until piece measures approx. 21-22-24 cm. Now keep the first 12-13-14 sts on needle, slip the next 30-32-34 sts on a stitch holder (= mid upper foot) and keep the last 12-13-14 sts on needle = 24-26-28 sts for heel. Work in stocking st back and forth on heel sts for 5-5.5-6 cm. Insert a marker, measure piece from here. Now dec for heel - SEE HEEL DECREASE!
After heel dec, knit up 13-14-16 sts along each side of heel and slip the 30-32-34 sts from stitch holder back on needle = 70-74-82 sts. Insert a marker on each side of the middle 30-32-34 sts on upper foot. Continue in stocking st while AT THE SAME TIME dec in each side as follows: K the last 2 sts before the 30-32-34 sts on upper foot twisted tog (i.e. work in back loop instead of front) and K the first 2 sts after the 30-32-34 sts on upper foot tog. Repeat dec on every other round a total of 10-10-11 times = 50-54-60 sts. Work until piece measures 18-19-21 cm from marker on heel (= 4-5-6 cm remain). Insert a marker in each side so that there are 26-28-30 sts on upper foot and 24-26-30 sts under foot. Continue working stocking st over all sts while at the same time dec for toes on each side of the markers. Dec as follows before 1 K st and marker: K 2 tog Dec as follows after marker and 1 K st: K 2 twisted tog. Repeat dec in each side on every other round a total of 4-7-9 times and then on every round a total of 6-3-2 times = 10-14-16 sts remain on needle. On next round K all sts tog 2 by 2. Cut the thread and pull it through the remaining sts, tighten tog and fasten.
